I felt it was time for a change.

since its nearing Christmas i decided why not change the  blog header pic to something more Christmasy.

I also felt I wanted to update on Desi. Desi has been leash walking, and he hasn't been pulling away as usual. and he went on his first outing since we got him. It was a BBQ with a few members from TotalRuckus.com sorry no pic's.

We finaly met a Corgi.

Hope everyone had a great turkey day. Mine was great i was driving to my G/F's Grandfathers house when we saw a corgi at the park. We had Desi with us so of course we had to detour. We stopped and talked to the owner of Bingly (the corgi)he was playing fetch. so tomarrow saturday the 28th we are going to meet up at the park and talk and let the dogs play with each other for a little while. ill get pic's at the park and update.

Toy's for Tot's ride 12/12/2009

StandardFunctions 09' Toys for Tots Ride and Drive

When: 12th of December
Where: The Hat (Rosemead blvd & Broadway)
What : for a good cause and a chance to hang out with your peers, grab some drinks and grub, basically a relax day.

StandardFunctions would like to present our first Toy's 4 Tots for the 2 wheeled scooter enthusiast. Everyone knows that times are hard, but lets not let that reflect on the children over the holidays. We would like to invite everyone to come and chill as we will be gathering toys for the kids to donate at our local toy drive. Lets make this the strongest and most positive event to be at this year.

In support, we will also be throwing a BBQ / Best of best Honda Ruckus meet in the city of Angels for your entertainment.

We will be providing the food and beverages to those that are generous enough to participate.

We will be requiring a toy (valued at $10 and up) from everyone who attends or a minimum donation of $10 for those without toys. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to our selected charity.

There will be a quick and chill ride after the toy's drop off, so come with your laid-back attitude and lets make this a good one.

Update.

Sorry I have not been updating this as often as I planned. I've been busy with work.

So two weeks ago I took Desi to the vet. I went inside he stayed in the car. i talked to the vet about him and filled out some paper's, I asked her about Parvo. She told me that if I brought him inside to hold him and not let him down. Then she offered to give him his shot outside so I accepted.

So as for Desi he hasn't grown to much since the last pic I posted. He eats alot and drinks alot. He has been eating Purina Puppy Pro. I went to target to get him another bag and they were out so I got him Purina Puppy Chow.

Desi has been using Pee-Pee pads to go potty on and has been great with using them every time he needs to go to the relive himself.

Desi ears still arent standing but the are progressing more and more. His right ear stands on its own sometimes but the left one doesnt at all.

I will post pics later on tonight.

My g/f and I need to figure out how to read when he needs to use the potty. She was playing with him and we were talking so the attention wasnt there for him and he pee'd. We take him out after he drinks and after he eats we wait about 15 minutes then outside he goes. But he just sits there playing on the grass.
what can we do?

Wow I am glad to announce Desi has used a pee-pee pad for the first time last night.
He drank a bunch of water and then started smelling around he walked straight to the pad and pee'd.
I praised him after he went  by telling him good boy and petting him then playing with him for a little while.

10/18/09 Desi First bath

Today was pretty was pretty smooth and fun. Desi had his first bath.

All right time for a big update.

10/17/09
We (my g/f & I) left our house around 12:30pm and headed towards Bakersfield. I had my doubt's that we would make it in my $500 daily driver as it was the first long trip the car would be in while I owned it. I must say it went with out a hick up. We started out on the 10 West to the 5 North to the 99 North  we exit on highway 65 and are supposed to go 8.6 miles. We ended up going about 25 miles and then lost cell reception. (thanks MetroPCS) but i must say this reception was great till we got lost on the long stretch of highway with nothing to sides no gas station in sight and with 1/4 tank of gas left. We decided to turn around and then make the ride back to gas station really boring. I was looking at  street signs that would pop up ever mile or 2 since it was farm land. and Bam i see the sign it's on a little wood board worn off. So I make the left and its a bumpy dirt road I take it and admit i'm kinda scared at this point. so we get to the road that the Breeder's (Kim) house is on and the sign is on a pallet with a littel white board saying it's name on it.

We get there and are greeted by an adult Corgi & a puppy a few weeks older then Desi and we have big grin's on our faces. so we head to the door and are greeted by the breeder she had us disinfect our shoes so we didnt bring any un vaccinated puppy problems to her house.

Update on Desi 9/17/09

Well last night our breeder sent us a couple pic's of Desi. Hes gotten so much bigger. I can wait till next month when  can bring him home.
Oh I almost forgot the breeder said he was weaned from mommy. He is eating soaked puppy kibble mixed with canned puppy food & he is also very friendly.

Updates while I am waiting

Man the waiting period for Desi seems to be a long time. I know it's only a few week's but it feels like month's.
I cant wait till next week to see some more pic's.

Well after a week of waiting for the breeder to get more pic's. We finally received them last night. I was so excited i had smile from ear to ear. This what we saw.

Meet Desi.

Well After sometime my girlfriend convinced me to get a Corgi. I had seen them on t.v. plenty of times before. We really didnt know anything about them, so i hit the internet for info. What I found were some great Corgi forum's like cool2bcorgi.com.
There is really great, helpfull info.

Welcome to SoCal Corgi.
In this Blog i will keep you guys updated on how my 1st Corgi is doing. His name is Desi. I haven't brought him home yet. in a few more weeks he will be with my girl friend and I. I cant wait i'm so excited.
